ShipScroll FAQ

ShipScroll is a free weekly launch board for AI tools with tracked clicks and a launch report. Below are straight answers on how to launch an AI tool here, how voting and dofollow links work, what Premium and ads cost, how we count visits without cookies, and how refunds work. For step-by-step fixes, see the help center.

Launching

What is ShipScroll?

ShipScroll is a weekly launch board for AI tools. Makers launch for a week, people vote, and every visit we send to a product goes through a tracked link, so makers can see exactly how many people clicked through, where from, and how that compares with the other launches that week.

How do I launch my AI tool on ShipScroll?

Sign in, click "Submit your tool" and add a name, tagline, description, logo and screenshots. AI can fill in most of the listing from your website. We check that the link works and review the listing, usually within a day; once approved, your tool gets a place in the next week with room.

How much does it cost to launch?

Launching is free. Each week has 20 free places on the board, and your product page stays up for good. A Premium launch is $39 once per product if you want to pick your week, be featured, and get an always-dofollow link and a launch story.

When does a launch week start and end?

Launch weeks run Monday to Monday, starting at 00:00 UTC. Your launch is live, and open for votes, for the whole week; when it closes, the final ranking is fixed and your launch report is generated.

Can I choose my launch week?

Free launches join the next week with a free place. With a Premium launch you pick any week from next week up to 8 weeks ahead, and premium launches don’t use the 20 free places, so you skip the queue.

What images do I need?

A square logo (PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 10 MB) and at least one screenshot (up to 10 MB each). If you use "Fill with AI", we import your site’s icon and share image for you to keep or replace.

Voting and ranking

How are launches ranked?

Free launches are ranked by votes during their week. Premium launches are featured above the ranking all week instead of competing in it. The top 3 when the week closes earn a winner badge.

Who can vote?

Anyone with a ShipScroll account. Votes from accounts younger than 24 hours are recorded but only count once the account is 24 hours old, and accounts created to inflate votes are removed along with their votes.

Premium and launch stories

What does a Premium launch include?

For $39 once per product: your choice of launch week, a featured spot above the ranking all week, an always-dofollow link, the gold verified badge, the full launch report, and a ~1,800-word launch story on the ShipScroll blog. No subscription.

What is a launch story?

An article about your product on the ShipScroll blog, about 1,800 words, with four dofollow links to your site. You fill in a form with a fixed structure; AI can draft it from your listing, and you edit it before marking it ready. It publishes when your launch week starts.

Is there a discount for early makers?

Yes. The first 50 Premium launches cost $19 with the code FOUNDING at checkout.

Advertising

How much does it cost to advertise on ShipScroll?

A display ad is $19 a week or $99 for 6 weeks; the billboard ad is $99 a week; a side column ad is $29 a week or $149 for 6 weeks. You book whole weeks, Monday to Sunday UTC, and pay once for every placement in your campaign.

What are the ad placements?

A display ad is a Promoted row that looks like a product, shown after every 4 products on the home board, the directory, category pages and search, with 5 advertisers a week. The billboard is a full-width image banner in the home launch list, one advertiser a week. Side column ads sit beside every public page, with 10 places a week. Text ads show your logo, a title of up to 40 characters and a tagline of up to 90; link your ShipScroll product to show its upvotes.

Will I see how my ad performs?

Yes. Impressions and clicks show in your dashboard. Impressions count once per visitor per day, and ad links are marked as sponsored, as search engines require.

Tracking and privacy

How does ShipScroll count clicks without cookies?

We don’t use tracking cookies or store IP addresses. A visitor is a one-way hash of their connection details with a key that changes every day, which counts unique people without following anyone. Known bots are excluded, and repeat clicks from the same person within an hour count once.

Will the traffic show up in my own analytics?

Yes. Every visit we send goes through a link tagged with UTM parameters, so it appears in Google Analytics, Plausible or whatever you use, attributed to ShipScroll.

What is in the launch report?

Every launch gets a summary when its week closes: rank, votes, page views and visitors. Premium launches also get daily traffic, sources, countries, devices and a CSV export.

Payments and refunds

How do payments work?

Payments are one-time, never subscriptions, and are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record and handles sales tax and VAT. You can see every order and its status under Orders in your dashboard.

Can I get a refund?

Yes: a full refund if you ask before your launch week or ad week starts. If two buyers pay for the same ad slot at once, the later payment is refunded automatically. Email hello@shipscroll.com with your order; refunds usually arrive within 5 to 10 business days.

My payment went through but nothing changed. What now?

Confirmation usually takes a few seconds and the checkout page updates on its own. If an order still shows "Confirming" after a few minutes, check Orders in your dashboard, then email hello@shipscroll.com with the order and we’ll sort it out.
